Notre-Dame de Bayeux is one of the masterpieces of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, situated in the town of Bayeux in Normandy. It is 23km west of Caen. It is the residence of the Bishop of Bayeux. It was designated as a national monument of France in 1862. The Bayeux Tapestry is one of the treasures of the medieval cathedral, is a strip of linen, 64.38 metres in length, embroidered with wool thread dyed in eight colours: Dark blue, Blue-green, Grey-blue, Light green, Dark green, Tan, Buff, Yellow.
