Kuala Lumpur is proud on the tallest buildings in the world, the Petronas Towers. They are 452 metres tall, and were completed in 1998. They were the world’s tallest from 1997 until October 2003.
In October 2003 Taipei 101 in Taiwan took the first place with a height of 509 metres.
The KL Tower is a 421 metres high telecommunications and broadcasting tower which actually appears to be taller than the Petronas Towers, because it is built on a hill.
