The Bazaruto Archipelago is one of Africa’s finest beach destinations, consisting a group of islands in Mozambique, near the mainland city of Vilankulo. It covers the islands of Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Banque, Santa Carolina and Shell. It’s ideal for diving and snorkelling; the coral is pristine and fish life superb. The islands were formed from sand deposited by the Save River, which has since shifted its course. Tourist attractions include sandy beaches, coral reefs, and opportunities for surfing and fishing. The archipelago became a National Park in 1971. There is a wide abundance of reef fish, Surgeon, Moorish Idols, Parrot, Angel and Butterfly fish to name but a few.

The Himba raise cattle and goats Women tend to perform more labor-intensive work than men do, such as carrying water to the village, building homes and milking cows. Men handle the political tasks and legal trials. In the Himba culture a sign of wealth is not the beauty or quality of a tombstone, but rather the cattle you had owned during your lifetime, represented by the horns on your grave.
