Graffiti is a type of public markings that may appear in the forms of simple written words to elaborate wall paintings. Spray paint and markers are the most commonly used materials on creating this kind of art. The term “graffiti” derives from the Greek graphein (“to write”). Graffiti (s. graffito), meaning a drawing or scribbling on a flat surface, originally referred to those marks found on ancient Roman architecture. Graffiti is sometimes regarded as a form of art and other times regarded as unsightly damage or unwanted. There are many different types and styles of graffiti and it is a rapidly developing artform.
