The Mojave Road is a 138-mile stretch of dirt road through the center of the Mojave National Preserve. The road leads from waterhole to waterhole, and is mostly a 4-wheel-drive trail. Located in California, it is one of North America’s more famous routes. This rough road, also called the Old Government Road, from the site of the old Fort Mohave (on the west bank of the Colorado River, roughly 10 miles southwest of Bullhead City, Arizona) to the site of the old Camp Cady (on the west bank of the Mojave River, roughly 12 miles northeast of Newberry Springs, California). This desert track is the remnants of a wagon trail once connecting the old Mojave Fort along the Colorado River, to CampCady, about 20-miles east of Barstow.

Tanks are armored fighting vehicles made for fighting wars in rough terrain. They are able to move over and around obstacles, as well as most types of rough terrain, due to their continuous tracks. Soldiers from Company D, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division download gear off their tanks in the motorpool on Hohenfels Army base. The Soldiers are participating in Combined Resolve II, a U.S. Army Europe-directed multinational exercise at the Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels Training Areas, including more than 4,000 participants from 13 allied and partner countries
