The Kunstkamera is the first museum in Russia. Established by Peter the Great and completed in 1727, the Kunstkammer Building hosts the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography with a collection of almost 2,000,000 items. It is located on the Universitetskaya Embankment in Saint Petersburg, facing the Winter Palace. Peter\’s aim in setting up the museum was to demonstrate that the malformations were not the result of the evil eye or sorcery, but rather caused by internal damage as well as fear and the beliefs of the mother during pregnancy.

Sevastopol is an important and historical port on the Black Sea. Founded in 1783 as the base of the Black Sea Navy of Russia, it was beseiged by the British in the Crimean War. In the 20th century it was the home port of the Soviet Navy’s Black Sea Fleet, and the city retains a significant Russian naval presence. The population is still largely ethnically Russian and the population’s sympathies still lie largely with Moscow rather than Kiev. Nowadays Sevastopol is the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and Ukrainian Navy Forces as well as one of the most interesting tourist destinations in Ukraine.

The wooden churchs are one of Russia’s unique architectural treasures. This are fascinating pictures of Wooden Chruches on Island Kizhi on Lake Onega in Russia call Kizhi Pogost. Kizhi Pogost is a area that includes two large wooden churches, the 22-dome Transfiguration Church and the 9-dome Intercession Church, and a bell-tower. A church was built without using nails, all the wooden pieces are being hold together just without nails.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was born in October 7, 1952, Leningrad, Russia, U.S.S.R. He was russian intelligence officer (KGB) and politician who served as president of Russia in 1999–2008, 2012– till now and also was the country’s prime minister in 1999, 2008–12. He served as a spy in East Germany, an experience which helped him build and maintain good relations with Berlin when he came to power. St. Isaac’s is the world’s third largest domed cathedral and the first monument you see of the city if you arrive by ship. Isaakievsky Sobor is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city. Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Isaac of Dalmatia, a patron saint of Peter the Great. It’s main dome rises 101,5 meters and is plated with pure gold. The exterior is faced with gray and red stone, and features a total 112 red granite columns with Corinthian capitals. Its interior is as awesome and decoration includes sculpture, painting polished stone, gifting, mosaic, stained-glass windows.

Open: Thursday to Tuesday, 11am to 7pm, last admission is at 6pm
Cost: 250 Roubles for cathedral, 80 Roubles for colonnade
