The wooden churchs are one of Russia’s unique architectural treasures. This are fascinating pictures of Wooden Chruches on Island Kizhi on Lake Onega in Russia call Kizhi Pogost. Kizhi Pogost is a area that includes two large wooden churches, the 22-dome Transfiguration Church and the 9-dome Intercession Church, and a bell-tower. A church was built without using nails, all the wooden pieces are being hold together just without nails.

St. Isaac’s is the world’s third largest domed cathedral and the first monument you see of the city if you arrive by ship. Isaakievsky Sobor is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city. Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Isaac of Dalmatia, a patron saint of Peter the Great. It’s main dome rises 101,5 meters and is plated with pure gold.
