The Festival of the Winds is an annual international kite festival held in September in Bondi Park, Beach and Pavillion. Festival is a great place to see colourful cartoon characters, giant animals and flowers, fighter kites, box kites, delta kites and more make the skies come alive over Sydney’s most famous beach. A kite is a flying device that remains tethered to an anchor point that may be static or moving. The necessary lift that makes the kite wing fly is generated when air flows over and under the kite\’s wing.
