These giant lizards belong to the reptile family. Their scientific name is Varanus komodoensis. Indonesia is the only place in the world to see Komodos in their natural habitat. Komodos have a life span of 50 years! Their length is about 3 meters (10 feet) and they weight around 70 kg ( 155 pounds). Komodo dragons are carnivores and scavengers. Young Komodo dragons feed on small prey such as lizards, snakes and small mammals. Adult Komodo dragons prey on larger animals such as deer, water buffalo and pigs. Komodo dragons are venomous and is the only lizard species to hunt and kill prey larger than itself.

The hummingbird is the smallest bird and also the smallest of all animals that have a backbone. Hummingbird can reach speed to 60 miles per hour during courtship dives, normal straight-line flight speed can be 20 to 30 miles per hour. Hummingbirds are full-grown when they leave the nest. There are more than 300 kinds of hummingbirds. The smallest is the bee hummingbird Mellisuga helenae from Cuba. The largest is the giant hummingbird Patagona gigas. A hummingbird can weigh anywhere between 2 and 20 grams. Hummingbirds have an average life span of about 5 years.
