Castle Air Museum is a military aviation museum located in Atwater, California adjacent to the site of the former Castle Air Force Base (known as Merced Army Air Field during WWII). It is one of the largest aerospace museums displaying vintage aircraft in the western United States. The museum covers a collection of 53 World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam Era aircraft.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force is the official museum of the United States Air Force located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, northeast of Dayton, Ohio. The NMUSAF has one of the world\’s largest collections with more than 360 aircraft and missiles on display. The museum draws over 1.3 million visitors each year. Three aircraft hangars and a missile silo make up the museum complex, and a fourth building will open to the public in June 2016. The huge museum has everything from a Wright Brothers 1909 Flyer to a Sopwith Camel (WWI biplane) and the ‘Little Boy’ type atomic bomb (decommissioned and rendered safe for display) dropped on Hiroshima.

The Thunderbirds have the privilege and responsibility to perform for people all around the world, displaying the pride, precision and professionalism of American Airmen. The Thunderbirds are assigned to the 57th Wing, and are based at Nellis AFB, Nevada. On May 25, 1953, the Air Force’s official air demonstration team, designated the 2600th Air Demonstration Unit, was activated at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. The unit adopted the name “Thunderbirds,” influenced in part by the strong Native American culture and folklore from the southwestern United States where Luke Air Force Base is located.
