Cheddar Gorge is a limestone gorge in the Mendip Hills, near the village of Cheddar, England. It is the biggest and most dramatic gorge in Britain with cliffs rising to 450ft and reaching over 3 miles in length. Formed under the sea 300 million years ago. There are seven great attractions to explore at Cheddar Gorge, including the spectacular Gough’s Cave, Britain’s most beautiful stalactite cavern. Cheddar Gorge and Caves lends its names to many things – cheese, flowers and Britain’s oldest complete skeleton.
