Every November people in Britain go out and celebrate Bonfire Night. November 5th marked the anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot, when Catholic explosive expert Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. He was in the cellar of the parliament with the 36 barrels of gunpowder when the authorities stormed it in the early hours, was caught, tortured and executed.

The ever-popular Canada Day Parade and the awe-inspiring Canada Day Fireworks Show is back. Canada Day celebrates the birthday of Canada. On July 1, 1867 Canada became a new federation with its own constution by signing the Constitution Act. Most communities across the country organized celebrations for Canada Day, usually outdoor public events, such as parades, carnivals, festivals, barbecues, air and maritime shows, fireworks, and free musical concerts.
