Rock of Cashel is one of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Ireland and one of the most visited. It is a significant historical site and for 600 years was the power-base of the kings of Munster. The ruins include a 12th-century round tower, high cross, Romanesque chapel, 13th-century Gothic cathedral, 15th-century castle and the Hall of the Vicars.
