Aland is the smallest of the three Nordic autonomous territories with a population of 28,000. One third of the population lives in the capital, Mariehamn. The glorious Åland archipelago is a geopolitical anomaly: the islands belong to Finland, speak Swedish, but have their own parliament, fly their own blue-gold-and-red flag, issue their own stamps and have their own web suffix. Their special relationship with the EU means they can sell duty free and make their own gambling laws.

The Icehotel is a hotel built each year with snow and ice in the village of Jukkasjärvi, in northern Sweden, about 17 kilometres from Kiruna. It is the world\’s first ice hotel. It is world-famous hotel created every year. Beginning work in October the Icehotel is ready for its first guests in December. The hotel’s public areas, including the Ice Bar and ice pillared hallway, are illuminated by dazzling ice sculptures and spectacular ice-carved chandeliers, This year will celebrate the 25th Icehotel in Swedish Lapland.

Every year, Sweden’s Ice Hotel is built from the scratch, because old one melted in the last Spring. So every year the construction and design is complete new. The Ice Hotel is situated near of the Torne River, which gives the builders good water resource for their ice material.

It is situated in the old village called Jukkasjärvi in Swedish Lapland.
Combination of 10 000 tons of crystal clear ice with 30 000 tons of pure snow creates this wonderful buildings with bedroom, hall, cinema and of course bar.
