The Orpheum is one of the most beautiful concert halls in Canada. Built in 1927 and refurbished in 2009. The Orpheum is located on Granville Street near Smithe Street in Vancouver’s downtown core. In its original building permit the Orpheum was classified as a movie palace, based on its almost 2800-seat capacity, extravagant decor, and full provisions for cinema projection. Now a rare survivor of the palace type, it was once among a group of 17 similar theatres built throughout Canada. The theatre is fully equipped to host large productions, conferences, film shoots, and other events.

Vancouver Public Library’s Central Branch maintains a collection of 1.4 million items and acts as a system-wide resource for 22 branch locations. A beautiful building is located in downtown Vancouver and looks like Colosseum in Roma. Designed by Moshe Safdie and opened in 1995. You could easily spend a day in this massive building with multiple stories. The first thing you will notice is the beautiful glass atrium that creates an indoor space in front of the main library doors.
