The New Palace is the largest 18th century structure in the Sanssouci park. It was built from 1763 to 1769 according to the plans of Johann Gottfried Büring, Heinrich Ludwig Manger, and Carl von Gontard, and served Frederick II as a palace for his guests. The palace has different areas. The Grand Tour gives you access to the main part – room after room of beautiful furnished history. This walk can be a bit long and you have to wear special footwear on top of your own shoes to protect the floors. The King\’s apartment tour is shorter, guided and you get to see a lot of books at the end. There\’s also a theater in the Neues Palais, and you can buy tickets for a show there.
