History at Southfork began in 1978, when Lorimar Productions chose the North Texas showplace as the site for the CBS-TV series Dallas. For thirteen years, television sets were tuned into 356 episodes of Dallas, one of the longest running series in television history. The ranch is currently an event and conference center, owned by Forever Resorts. It continues to welcome visitors from around the world, who come to see where Dallas was filmed and to experience the lifestyle made famous by the Ewings.
