The Frankfurt Motor Show is one of the biggest auto shows in the world. Audi E-Tron Quattro is not only a concept, but possibly a realistic vision of where Audi is headed. The company confirmed at Frankfurt Motor Show here that it will release a luxury electric crossover in early 2018. The E-Tron Quattro concept has three electric motors (one up front, two on the rear axle) that offer a total output of 320 kW (429 horsepower) under normal circumstances and up to 370 kW (496 hp) using boost. The E-Tron Quattro\’s boost also offer\’s 590 pound-feet of torque. The car has a Combined Charging System (CCS), meaning it can be charged with a DC or AC electrical current. It can fully charge with a DC current outputting 150 kW in just about 50 minutes. The e-tron quattro can go from zero to 62.1 miles per hour in just 4.6 seconds, Audi claims, with its top speed reaching 130.5 miles per hour. With its 95 kWh battery, the e-tron quattro has an impressive range of 310 miles on a single charge.

The Jaguar C-X17 concept has made its world premiere at an exclusive event ahead of the Frankfurt motor show, debuting the brand’s all-new lightweight vehicle platform and previewing the first-ever Jaguar SUV. It’s the first to be built on the company’s new aluminium monocoque structure for smaller cars, which carries the codename iQ[Al]. The C-X17 is finished in a cobalt blue, called Caesium, with glossy black brightwork around the windows, and graphite five-spoke split alloys (23in in diameter). A production crossover inspired by the C-X17 is set to follow in 2016.

The concept looks like an urban pickup. The electric drive of the smart for-us is based on the innovative drive concept of the smart fortwo electric drive. Thanks to the 55 kW magneto-electric motor the smart for-us is agile and lively to drive. With 130 Newton metres of torque it boasts powerful, lag-free acceleration and it can overtake other vehicles with the greatest of ease. The maximum speed exceeds 120 km/h. The battery is a 17.6 kW/h lithium ion battery pack, which is more juice than a Chevrolet Volt.

Renault has some pretty impressive cars. The A110-50 simply celebrates 50 years since the introduction of the Alpine A110, the legendary Renault-engined sports car of the Sixties and Seventies. Its exterior design was inspired by the Renault DeZir concept. At midship is the Renault V4Y powerplant, a 3.6 liter 24-valve V6 engine rated at 400 horsepower. Outfitted with a semi-automatic 6-speed gearbox, the same found on F1 race car’s transmission, gears can be control either through clutch pedal or paddle on the steering column.

The Infiniti LE concept is a four-door sedan 100% electric which builds on the features of the Nissan Leaf. It made its world debut at the 2012 New York International Auto Show. Concept is powered by a 100-kW electric motor rated at 134 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. Infiniti claims to be determined to establish itself as the leader in electric vehicles.

Toyota revealed a range of new models at the 2011 Geneva motor show, including full hybrid Yaris HSD concept. Yaris HSD is a typical city car, with an emphasis on low fuel consumption and low emissions. Like all other hybrid models of Japanese brands, the Yaris will be able to run solely on electricity. Roof of concept is covered with solar panels, which could improve the performance of the hybrid system. The independent panels power the air conditioning system in the concept. Design is almost identical with the serial model. While the exterior design of the European version will be completely identical with the Japanese, the interior will be diametrically different. We expect hybrid version of yaris in market in the second half of 2012.
