At the heart of one of Europe’s most magnificent coastlines its unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of Atlantic storms. It is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. Giant’s Causeway is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland, about three miles northeast of the town of Bushmills. The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although there are also some with four, five, seven, and eight sides. The tallest are about 39 ft high.

One of the most scenic areas of Central Oregon surely has to be along the Lower Crooked River. Chimney Rock overlooks a bunchgrass landscape that has been etched by the beautiful cliff-rimmed canyon of the Crooked River. A hiking trail begins on the canyon floor and winds it’s way up to the rock formation providing several great opportunities to photograph the unique rock formation and the wild and scenic river below. The trail, like all of the Lower Crooked Wild & Scenic River area, is managed by BLM and it starts directly across the road from the Chimney Rock Campground.

The Yorkshire Wildlife Park was built on land formerly occupied by the 260-acre Brockholes Farm Visitor Centre, and currently occupies about 100 acres of the site. Grand Haven is a city located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Grand River, for which it is named. The Grand Haven Lighthouses were built in 1839 on the south pier, to mark the most navigable channel into the river. The current lighthouses, painted red, were built in 1875 and 1905. They are connected by a lighted catwalk, which runs along the pier to the shore. The Grand Haven pier is a popular spot for fishing and catching the sunset.

Bodiam castle looks exactly like the popular image of a medieval castle. It is quadrangular in shape and has a tower on each end of the wall. Being surrounded by a moat. The moat thus served as an almost impregnable defence, and although the castle was never attacked, the moat would have negated the effectiveness of siege warfare. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, with the permission of Richard II, ostensibly to defend the area against French invasion during the Hundred Years\’ War.

Margam Country Park is a country park estate in Wales, of around 850 acres. It is situated in Margam, about 2 miles from Port Talbot in south Wales. The park offers a range of exclusive activities. I mean, where else can you feed a herd of Welsh deer and ‘Go Ape’ in the brand new high wire forest adventure course. Situated within the park are three notable buildings: Margam Abbey, a Cistercians monastery; Margam Castle, a neo-Gothic country house and the 18th-century Orangery.
